Traditional, non-lightfast pigments were replaced with modern lightfast pigments with the same colour characteristics as the traditional ones. Thanks to the highest possible concentration of pigment in each colour, the paint has an unprecedented colour strength. Within the unique range of 168 colours, there is a wide range of opaque and transparent colours, each with the highest possible brilliance (intense) and clarity (clean) characteristics. The only medium we use for our oil paints is cold-pressed extra virgin linseed oil, to obtain an optimum oxidisation (drying) of the paint. This increases durability and brushstroke spread. Together, these characteristics result in an oil paint of unequalled quality.

Branded Cross-bar are available for all sizes. These are useful for bracing a larger frame, and are necessary when one of the dimensions is 36 inches or over. Crossbars are notched to overlap from 36 inches, either at the Front or Back. To make a cross you will need one Front and one Back cross-bar. Sold per single piece. Supplied with wedges. Learn More

Russell & Chapple ‘Branded’ stretchers are our quality range of canvas stretcher frames. They are made of laminated pine to minimise warping, and have a 1/4 in lip to raise the canvas away from the bars. All bars are mortised to take cross-bars from 36 inches.
