Gamblin Ground
Starting at: £20.00
Gamblin Oil Painting Ground makes a strong, bright, non-absorbent foundation for oil paintings. Formulated from alkyd resin, titanium dioxide, and barium sulfate, Gamblin Ground makes canvas and linen stiffer than acrylic “gesso” and more flexible than traditional oil primers. Barium sulfate gives Gamblin Ground its tooth. Titanium dioxide gives Gamblin Ground its opacity. Because the percentage of pigments is so much higher than in acrylic “gesso”, painters need only apply TWO coats of Gamblin Ground instead of the recommended four coats of acrylic. More coats can be added for smoother painting surfaces. Because alkyd resin is used instead of linseed oil as the binder, Gamblin Ground is more flexible and dries more quickly than lead/linseed oil grounds. Lead/linseed oil grounds must dry for six months and Gamblin Ground is ready for paint application within a week. Learn More -

UV Reactive Pigments 1 Kilo
Starting at: £27.70
PRODUCT An Ultra Violet Pigment is a fluorescent dye that has been dissolved in resin, and then ground to a fine pigment. When exposed to ultra violet light these pigments fluoresce intensely. All the colours are visible under normal light, and are fluorescent in UV light except for Invisible Blue. This milky semi-transparent colour is almost invisible in normal light but glows pale blue under UV. USE The product is used extensively in nightclubs for special effects under UV light. Best results can obtained by painting onto a bright white surface. This allows the light to reflect back through the paint and increases the colour intensity. These pigments are not light-fast and as such are not suitable for fine art applications. RECIPE UV Powder can be mixed with most water-based media to produce fluorescent paint. 500 ml glaze mix 100 grams UV powder METHOD Mix UV powder to a paste with glaze mix. Thin out with the above proportion of glaze mix. If using concentrated emulsion glaze dilute 2 parts water to 1 part glaze to give the correct mix. Learn More -

Rosco Flamex PA Flame Retardant Additive 237 ml
£15.70Flamex PA is a clear, un-pigmented additive for creating a flame retardant paint layer. Add one full jar of Flamex PA to a US gallon (3.79L) of water based paint to make your paint coating flame retardant. Flamex PA is compatible in most latex or vinyl acrylic paints but always test with your specific paint choice. Do not use Flamex PA with metallic paints as the metal pigments may react and tarnish or corrode. Flamex PA does NOT alter the flammability of the substrate being painted but only adds a retardant treatment that slows the spread of fire along the surface. Rosco Flamex PA has been pre-measured and should be added to a single US Gallon (3.78L) of paint. Once combined, the paint/Flamex mixture can be diluted as desired but the dry paint film must be no less than 4 mil in thickness. The effectiveness of a fire retardant barrier is dependent on both the fire retardant additive and the thickness of the coating. Flamex PA is not intended to be used in place of other flame retardant products. Where possible, always treat the substrate material using the appropriate flame retardant. Learn More
