Metal Leaf - 25 Sheets Transfer

Metal leaf is sold in book form, with 25 140 mm x 140 mm sheets per book. Each book contains 0.5 sq metre of metal leaf. The leaf is sold ‘transfer’, with a paper backing for easier handling. Lose leaf is available to order, if required. Metal leaf will oxidise is left untreated, so it should be varnished with shellac or Ormoline Sealer. Brodie & Middleton Pearl Lustre Pigments

Pearl and Metallic Lustre Pigments are made from mica flakes, coated with titanium and iron oxides. Unlike Bronze Powders, which are made from metal powder, they can be mixed with any medium, including water-based, are non toxic and totally lightfast. They are impervious to acids, alkalis, water and temperatures up to 800°. No top-coat is need, as they do not tarnish. It is possible to achieve a wide of effects by coating over other colours, and Pearl Lustres are most effective used over a dark base coat. Learn More -
